Does everyone else suffer with road dirt removing paint from the leading edge of the read arches, under the door seal?

Mine is due to be repainted today, and i wondered if anyone had come up with a way of protecting this vunerable area?

On the last RR I used several coats of thick hammerite - in the theory that this would resist the road spray better than the thin factory paint.

There should be a rubber protector on the wing-half, where as there is nothing on the door-half.

Very poor design IMHO 

dan totally agree, was wondering if some rubberized coating was available that could be applied to protect the door part of the panel, after I have had it repaired?

i have a light silver car and hammerite might stick out like a sore thumb, so i thought about just a silver sticky back foam or something like that? Dont want something that dirt and water can get inbetween else the problem gets worse!
