Getting a tow bar fitted to MY17 SV

My wife has I think a MY17 (later Nov 17) SV and I need some way to carry bikes.

The roof rails/rack seem a pain as the bikes are heavy so I'm probably thinking better to go with a tow hitch carrier. However even though the car is in theory supposed to have ever optional extra it doesn't have the Head up Display or the Tow Hitch!

I've seen there are various second hand or new deployable tow hitches on eBay etc., I'm not inclined to pay a dealer £3k if this is what people are charging from my read of some of the threads in this forum so if anyone has any recommendations for where to get the hitch done that would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't have to be new particularly and I might be persuaded to go non electric as long as it's removable if that is much more cost effective. 1994 Range Rover LSE Autobiography

The LR Accessory farmer's hitch towbar is about £1000 fitted by main dealer, quick and easy to fit/remove, higher nose weight than deployable, and no risk of the mechanism seizing. Depending on circumstances you might want to fit some kind of locking mechanism. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I had a removable Westfila tow bar fitted on my drive by PF Jones for under £800.

There are a couple of useful tow bar threads on here if you search:

If your going to carry bikes predominantly? How will your bike rack fit to the tow bar? My deployable bar has a swan neck type of arrangement so may not suit your purpose? And again, if you need to bolt some type of attachment to the swan neck? Then it may not retract with that attachment in place? Not a problem for a few weeks holiday use but may become problematic long term! So a fixed OR removable type one might be better?

I carry bikes with a Thule carrier on the Westfila removable tow bar with no problems or additions to the tow bar. MY23 D350 HSE

Ditto - Thule carrier on the Westfalia detachable swan neck here and its great. We only fit it when needed and you are only talking a minute or so to fit it to the car - no big deal compared to lugging the bike carrier out the garage!

I have a old Defender tow bar bolted to the wall to store it on:
