TV Reception - is everyone's this bad or just me?

Not wanting to hijack other TV threads, I thought I'd better start my own...

The reception on the TV in my 2010 seems very hit and miss (mostly miss).

Is this generally the case for all of these, or does it sound like there's something wrong with mine? I appreciate it's a digital signal and it will suffer from freezing etc when on the move but mine seems to be more than that.

Basically, when I'm travelling the reception will drop out for long periods of time before eventually coming back for a bit and then dropping out again etc. Even stationary outside the house, sometimes it will get a signal and other times there will be no channels available.

Looking at these sorts of threads, I do get the impression that everyone else's seems to work better than mine, but I'm not really sure what to expect. Its hard to believe they would bother fitting it at all if they were all this bad though.

Am I correct in that there are 4 antenna amplifier modules? Is there anything that can be done to test them? Or is it a case of replacing them? Are the antennas all in the side windows?

The kids like to watch it and the DVD player still doesn't work. Luckily we're not going anywhere at the moment but I'm sure the complaints will start anew when we can! 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Thank you for that. Very informative.

So only two amplifiers to investigate! 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Think you will find TV on the move is pretty awful, it does depend where you are though...!! Pete

Looks like 2 antennas and 2 amplifiers.

I don’t think Digital TV was really designed to be used on the move, more for the stationary TV in your living room.

Only tried mine stationary.

Mine seems to be equally awful while stationary though.

Maybe I'm expecting too much! 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

You might need to retune it if you are a few miles from where you last retuned it. Seems ok after that.

Can’t suggest anything else I’m afraid.

It seems to stop completely with no channels available. Then they all come back some time later.

Sometimes it's a blessing. Wink 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE
