Handbrake stuck on

Had it too good for too long. Wife cones home, there’s something wrong with the car. Ffs .handbrake will not disengage, had the following when reading code . Need to know how to disengage . It can drive but the handbrake is jammed on.
Naturally don’t want to damage it further .

On the L322, there's an a mechanical Emergency Release cable in the RHS compartment in the boot. Just Pull it (Hard) & it releases the mechanism.
I assume there's something similar for the L405 ? Paul,

I’ll need to check the handbook, cheers . Just found a thread from a couple of months back which points me in the right direction.

It's under the cupholders in the front. There is a red strap which needs a good, hard tug to release it. Hope this helps.

Edit: sorry, I think this is for the gearbox actually, not the handbrake. Kev

Have you tried putting it into service mode to see if it releases it? I’m sure there is no mechanical release on these as the handbrake mechanism is built into the calliper, so no cables going to it.

Only way to manually release the parking brake is to remove the actuator from the calliper and operate the mechanism (clockwise rotation to release) in the calliper.
Landrover state you should replace the bolts that hold the actuator and o-ring between actuator and calliper if you do this.

This is detailed in the workshop manual in the wiki

For reference , part number is LR036573, not handed . Get them on the bay from £29 (china) , also a motor factor down south selling for £79 or Duckworths @ £188. Amazingly , I have an identical fault on the Porsche, they want almost £500 for their servo motor.. the joys..
