It crossed my mind that the lettering stencil is actually correct.

I once saw a very slight variation in letter spacing on two brand new Discovery 3’s parked side by side at a dealership.

the SE on the back of mine sits slightly lower the Vogue, most badges are applied the same in the factory, i.e. a stencil not by robot and therefore you would get some variation

Interesting, thanks for the thoughts on the lettering.

The reason I compared them with our 2012 was because the spacing wasn't the same as the 2007 I was fitting the letters too. In the end I cut the template in the middle and joined it with a bit cut out and in doing so it was the same spacing on both of our cars.

In a nutshell, the letter spacing isn't my main concern. It's an issue I got around. I still have the issue of a bent trim strip to sort Smile

Hi David, did you happen to get a price/partnumber from Duckworths?

I have order the letters form Powerful and let you know if my spacing (on the rear ) is the same as the template, but would rather not go through the pain of fitting the springy trim bar.

Cheers

I did get a price from Rob but can’t remember the exact amount. It was slightly less then 60 quid but don’t have the invoice yet to confirm. I can’t even remember if that was inc or exc VAT I’m afraid.

It’s been one of those weeks!

I ordered black letters for mine, front and back, and the tailgate trim from them.

The trim was curved but a couple of minutes with the heat gun softened it a little and it's been on for about 5 months now with no issues (including a couple of power washes).

So far as the letter spacing is concerned I didn't even unpack the stencil from the box. I just removed each letter in turn, cleaned the area and stuck the new one where the old one had been.

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

I was reluctant to try the heat gun as I didn't want to distort it. I'll know for next time Smile

PowerfulUK have been great, they've sent me a label to return the item to them for a refund and I've ordered a genuine one from Duckworths.

I've really enjoyed watching Powerful's video's over the years. Always very detailed and particularly good at pointing out the small things, like tabs that need to be pressed when removing fiddly trim.

I certainly wish them the very best of luck with their ever expanding range, it certainly sounds like their customer service is great. I think the message here is people will pay a little extra for quality!

I liked their videos, but I can’t say that their products meet my kind of quality expectations. The descriptions on their website aren’t accurate either. And even when they say “it manufactured for us” I feel like they are a little economical with the truth as many others sell the same stuff around the world. So far I’m sad to say that to me what I’ve received is more akin to cheap Chinese badly fitting and made copies.
