Most of you seems to drive around as some careful hockey mom's gettings numbers like SWMBO. I average around 15 l/100km or that would also be 15 MPG.

Long term average 19.7 MPG, quite a lot towing a trailer, the OH actually has a worse fuel average when she drives it..best 28.5, worst 10.9 |

Seems weird they would use a smaller one for the diesels, I wonder what goes in place of the missing 20ltrs... Pete

As above, I wondered if that could that be a change from when the diesels became Euro6 compliant, and needed adblue?

Reading this thread with interest. I am currently in the market for a L405 and have just sold my 2013 D4. We have just returned from a 2 week holiday to the scottish highlands in the d4 and covered 2500 miles in 2 weeks. Over the 2500miles we averaged 32.7mpg which I was very pleased with but it looks like I may be even more impressed with a L405 |

Are you after a 3 or a 4.4L? The 3.0 will probably give you better fuel economy than the D4. The 4.4, perhaps not, unless you drive it like a monk. At a constant 80 mph on motorways I get 32-33mpg from a 4.4, but local/A-roads will give less delight.

I’m pretty sure the diesel fuel tank shrank(?) by 20L for MY16 onwards (Euro6 / Adblue).

Got my heart set on a 4.4. Had a L322 4.4tdv8 a few years ago and it was a stonking engine so I can only imagine the L405 with more bhp and less weight will be even better. Could never fault the economy of my L322 as I could easily match or better what I got from the discovery Going to look at a couple of cars tomorrow ![]() 2014 Range Rover vogue se 4.4sdv8 Loire Blue 1992 Range Rover Vogue LSE 4.2 Ardennes green Last edited by marsie on 14th Jun 2021 8:53pm.
