FBH, a Range Rover saga

I know the Fuel Burning Heater has been discussed at lengths but I haven't found an answer to my problem as of yet, despite a black belt in google-fu.

Background
My FBH has been faulty for some time, gave it to the workshop, bad pump, fixed that. Then bad BMS (battery monitoring system) and replaced the battery for a new AGM one. The FBH has no errors logged so it should be ok now.

Problem
Now, the burner starts when I start Rangy and it's cold but the parked heating has a really odd behavior. According to the workshop manual it should start heating when the temp is below 16 degrees Celsius. In most cases it just start the ventilation instead. Sometimes if I start it and turn it off repeatedly with the remote it starts the burner and then works fine. I've also noted that when the car is turned off and I try and start it from the menu nothing happens, the soft button on the screen can be pressed but there's no response. If I start the car the heating and ventilation buttons will be grayed out.

Anyone experienced something similar? Any help would be very very appreciated since it's driving me mad...

The car is a L322 from 2011 with the 4,4 TDV8 Diesel.

From what I understand, the fuel burning heater isn't supposed to kick in unless the outside temperature is 5 degrees C or below 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

It does start when the engine is running when the outside temp is below 8 degrees for the diesels (something like that).

But when parked heating is used ie. the menu or the remote is used and the engine is off it should come on when it’s colder than 16 degrees.

I'm not sure either but it seems that my actual heater is working as it should, I'm more confused to why it starts ventilation instead of heating?

When you say it is working when you start the RR. Do you mean you can hear the FBH fan running or you know that the burner is working...? L322 2007 TDV8 3.6
