Yes, you just dont know who has been there before you and possible over torqued/stretched the threads with a hammer tool or even had them cherry red with oxy/acet

In an ideal world yes of course but sometimes it's just not possible. When I did my front suspension airbags, I couldnt get new bolts in time, the old ones were cleaned, inspected and reused. BMW i3 Electric Car
