06 L322 - How to stream from iphone?

Hello all, I'm new to FFRR ownership (and 4x4s, LRs, SUVs etc!).

My new ride is a lovely 2006 Vogue with the AJV8 4.4L and HK system. What are my options for streaming audio? The family would love to listen to apple music and I'd enjoy the option of podcasts, too.

I'm interesting in considering all solutions, from quick hacks to more significant overhauls; Ideally, it'd be a solution for under £300(ish).

I use a male to male 3.5mm audio cable connected to the rear aux in socket that hides under the flap on the rear of the cubby box.

I then run it around the side of the cubby box between the cubby and the drivers seat and into the cubby box where it connects to a Bluetooth receiver. Not the same as this one but you get the idea…

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SONRU-Bluetooth-R...B086VZQG55

Then on the radio screen select AUX and turn on the BT receiver. Phone connects automatically and will stream to it without any issues. Cheap solution that works well. SIRI will control music through it and you can still use the Bluetooth on the head unit for making and receiving calls whilst connected to the audio streamer.

Occasionally I’ll take the receiver into the house and charge it and put it back in the car the next time. Ideal solution for around £20 IMO.

This is an incredibly helpful and well explained response. Thank you for this and the links.

Another alternative for not that much money (relatively speaking) that I was considering:

The upside is the intergrated USB ports and the fact that I won't need to remember to charge the bluetooth receiver (as the FFRR isn't a daily).

That's quite interesting, I hadn't seen that before. I don't like that big charging socket sticking out of the rear socket though. If I was fitting that I'd try and get power to that device without having it visible like that as I like subtle.

At least with the 3.5mm cable It's a tiny plug that's very low down so you don't really see it. The bluetooth adapter I've got will charge off a 12v socket so if I'm going away or using the car for a long journey I tend to charge mine in the car. I can't remember off the top of my head if there's a 12v socket in the cubby box as that would be nice and tidy if there was.

The video is a little amateurish and doesn't give an image of the final product, unfortunately.

This is a great tip for streaming bluetooth.

Unfortunately for me, my aux doesn't seem to be near the cigarette socket.

I got really excited by this when I saw the thumbnail and then I watched the video and nope - looks far too messy for me.

The luxury Land Rover one. I have the Bluetooth dongle into aux solution at the moment but thought this might be some sort of replacement port unit from the picture

I use an Amazon Echo Auto plugged into the Aux port in the rear. Very pleased with it.

Yes.
Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer and BBC Sounds all work on mine.
Also good for navigation using Google Maps or TomTom Go app.

Brilliant, I did not even consider this, I’ve got a little Bluetooth dongle, but I want something better, does it connect as soon as you get in or do you have to manually connect every time? 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

Yes, pairs automatically.
I got mine during an Amazon promotion for £25, which do come up every now and again.
I think they are currently on offer at £34.99 from Amazon. I think they are well worth it at this price.
