My first LR - a 2011 4.4 TDV8

Due to the need of a comfortable family hauler that won't strip your spine from your soul on our "roads" I testdrove a friend's TDV8 and fell in love with. I immediately went out and found a nice looking white Vogue with the surround cameras, towing bar, roof rails, AFS lights, and the logic7 sound system.
It had around 200k, the engine top is a bit noisier than the ~100k car from my buddy, but seemed ok otherwise, with no concerning error codes apart from the anticipated P040 EGT sensor. It had way less rust too, so I took it.

In the 3 months I have it, I already went through the standard treatment like a failing suspension due to a broken cable, rotten wheel nuts, rusty wheel arches, both keys coming apart, shot gas struts under the bonnet and trunk, the trunk cable was corroded away, and the cherry on top - which I'm surprised seems to be the same in the "motherland" as well - the official LR service's general customer-centric ( Rolling Eyes ) stance.

With that, I'm reaaally glad I found this forum which is full of great people trying to help eachother and sharing their knowledge, as somehow I sense that I will need that more often than I would have anticipated for Smile

It's always sunny in/with the right bra! Laughing As for the location, that would be Bratislava[/quote]

That does look lovely and I too like the FFRR in white... but only in other countries.

I don't know why but the white in the UK makes it look too Essex/WAG. In Europe, when I see them, they look great! 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

Fuji white with darkened glass is known as ‘Dubai Spec’ in some places. As in looks ok there, but not in dull old Blighty!

That’s a nice looking FF you’ve got there.

You don’t seem to see many in white!

As winter is approaching and the old Conti SC6 wasn't too fond of enthusiastic rain anymore neither, I decided to go with this Bridgestone All-season rubber.

And although I did anticipate some resistance, I didn't ever imagine having to deal with the below ... times 20 Shocked

What are the odds?

One of the front cameras was shot when I bought the car, and it took me a few months before I could source a replacement (even at the horrific 600e price, JLR didn't have them) ... and when I finally get to replace the faulty unit that has completely fallen apart, I find the other camera being in this condition Rolling with laughter

Another lesson learned is that the LR4 module doesn't fit physically without fiddling with it (different mounting holes and lens diameter), but what is worse, the picture is rotated by 90 degrees
