the car has been left to sleep locked and came back the next day and no joy. I haven’t done a hard reset yet. Haven’t actually disconnected the battery since I brought it. Assume I can just disconnect the one on the boot spare wheel well?

No, the 13MY doesn't have diagnostics for the steps or tow bar... Treat the system as a stand-alone system, sir...

as you look in the boot the plug was the far right hand side, with a blank plate on it
