MAP sensor....caused limp mode.

So driving along the M62 and the car suddenly "bings" and goes into limp mode. No power, no hard shoulder (don't you just love smart motorways!) Censored
Get into the first lane, then onto a grass verge, engine off, wait 30seconds restart and powers back. Up to speed pull onto the first lane, drive to services, lucky I had my diagnostics with me, run a scan, and it shows ...
Map sensor "A".
So since I have 2 Map sensors being the V8, which is sensor A?
I shall order a new one and fit it as soon as I know which one to change

A should be the on the RH bank when looking from behind the engine, not from in front. If you disconnect the electrical connector you should get a permanent fault on that sensor, then swapping the sensors left to right the fault should swap sides if the sensor is indeed the cause.
Quite possibly the sensors just need a good clean with a spray cleaner.

I replaced mine a while ago on a 2012 4.4TDV8 (while eliminating them as a cause of something), I have 2 spares which work perfectly because there was no change whatsoever when I replaced them.

If you do need one, PM me, I would be happy to sell it for less than I have advertised them for on eBay. Not sure if they are the same design as yours though.

Thanks for that GraemeS it has been spray cleaned before, approx 5 months ago, previous owner warned me in advance of the issue. I shall look at it again, if memory serves me right, the thin wire was touching the plastic that runs along the side of it.
Thanks for the offer Rangerover, unfortunately they are a different design to mine, otherwise I'd have gratefully accepted your offer.
