Would a broken cv mean a total loss of drive? I thought centre diff would apportion drive to the rear. I ask because i have no drive and cans see front driveshaft spinning and wheel not turning.

The Torsen centre differential used in the NV225 transfer box can only 'bias' the torque up to a maximum split of 65%/35% to either the front or rear - it can't lock. If one propshaft sees zero torque because a wheel is spinning or a driveshaft joint has popped out of engagement, then unfortunately the other propshaft will see zero torque too.
