Nice view of the Menai bridge looking towards Snowdonia, the ex dam I think is somewhere down the Conway Valley, if I remember my School field trip from the 70’s

I'll give you a clue, it's in New South Wales.

Just got back from a couple of days visiting this really interesting place.
The source of water supply for Birmingham and the midlands thanks to some very clever Victorian engineering , all gravity fed over 100 miles of pipeline.

No , sorry, I have been there in the past, but from memory that provides drinking water to Liverpool.
Nice place to visit though, but the six dams and reservoirs at this place, combined with the walking trails and Red Kites are much better.

The last picture (overflowing) is the top dam at the end of the Elan Valley trail ( 6 mile walk from the visitor centre, but I have never seen so many Red Kites, Buzzards , and well worth the visit.

As soon as you mentioned 6 dams I was onto it.
It was the dam that Hammond "climbed" in a Land Rover on Top Gear

I love watching the Red Kites when I go down south and I'm now waiting for them to arrive here, so far I have only seen 1 near Swarkestone, however there are some near Belper.

I believe there is a feeding station in that area, just cannot remember where.

They were literally hovering and swooping along the full length of the trail, no exaggeration hundreds of them. I have never enjoyed a sight like it, on a perfect clear blue sky day yesterday.
