United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

Will have a look shortly Smile

I've just had the entire rear subframe off mine, replaced every single bush and balljoint on it (and the front too) all 4 bearings, and both diffs and whilst everything has been off it's been rust treated, zinc primered and then coating in Bilt Hamber Epoxy Mastic. Made life much easier doing it all whilst the subframe was off Smile

What trim strip did you use to go over the wheel arch and onto the liner? I'd like them on mine but am not sure what to look for.

Here you go David, this is the wheel arch sealing strip I used. Fits like a glove.

Bow down

Superb! Thank you!

Was 1 meter enough for each wheel arch or did you need 2? 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

I only bought 1 metre and that was enough for both arches. Christian.

Christian, why that style of rubber strip?

I thought that this type was the correct one

David, I used the type with the lip because the U type does not effectively stop dirt laden water getting between the wheel arch liner and the arch.
My arches had the start of some corrosion due to the gap between the liner and the arch lip so this additional rubber lip will prevent about 80% of that water getting into that area as it’s really tight to the liner. Christian.

I used the u shape rubber because I wanted to completely cover the wheel arch lip from stone damage. Water will still get behind any 'seal' unless you fill it with silicone or the like first.
It's not really a seal if you think about it. I think of it as a protection strip.

The car is currently looking like this, can anyone guess what is being done this time?

No prizes other than the glory if you are right.... Laughing

What a fantastic write up, I have had to change the same suspension components on mine, I also need to change the centre prop bearing and I’m just waiting on a gearbox flush.

I’m glad to see that I’m not alone in having to or wanting to replace all the same components. Thumbs Up

Thanks very much for that, it's always good to see positive feedback. It helps to motivate me to keep documenting it!

I'm not sure I'd have a flush on the gearbox BTW, I've heard mixed things and ZF don't recommend it. Christian.

'bout your LED choice...

Hi,
This thread is fantastic !
and I'm sorry but I'd like to have your opinion on a choice you made about LEDs.

QUOTE:
"Headlight bulbs.
My HID's were looking a little dull and yellowing so I bought some OSRAM replacements.
If you do this, don't buy cheap knock off bullbs or you'll have all sorts of issues with overheating, beam pattern, dazzling, radio interference, CAN BUS errors etc. Stick with Philips or Osram.
They are D3S on my MY2011 so I went for OSRAM Cool Blue Intense Xenarc"

SO you won't change Your DS3 with Led ones ? Can you please elaborate ?

Thanks again for a wonderful Thead Thumbs Up "it needs some intelligence to undestand you may not have enough"
