I looked at that a few years ago, fine if you want 5,000 pieces, if you want two or three it would be cheaper to get them cast in gold....

Aluminium can be complicated with some lasers, they dont like it. Try GKR Sheet Metal https://www.gkrsheetmetal.com/ or here for waterjet cutting (gives a very, very smooth cut. https://www.locatewaterjet.co.uk/ What CAD package are you exporting from? most lasers / cnc etc accept DXF as the import file type. Better off laser cutting with sheet, but it also depends on thickness. One of my guys can normally program a machine from a drawing with measurements without much trouble, If its a part you think can be sold to others it can work out better to have 100 made. |
