Rear Child Security Fault - SOLVED

When I try to apply the child locking I get this red warning message:

Rear Child Security Fault

The system is locking the rear doors and deactivating the windows as it should but when I switch it off the doors are still locked from the inside and the rear windows do not operate. The rear doors can be opened from outside but the rear windows are not operating.

The Iid tool clears the faults ok but they return:

DDM-Driver Door

B110C-92 (2F) Rear door driver side power child locking motor - Component failure - performance or incorrect operation
( on 17-07-2022 14:20:02 at 183069 km )
B110D-92 (2F) Rear door passenger side power child locking motor - Component failure - performance or incorrect operation
( on 17-07-2022 14:20:02 at 183069 km )

Anybody had this before? Thanks

Forgot to say, rear child locking was fine before it went into main dealer for new earth stud on n/s/f. They had to charge the battery as it was flat. Could it be something they have done or a result of flat battery? It seems strange that the IID fault is suggesting both child locking motors have failed…..

It sounds like either there is an earth left off somewhere or the locks are operating inconsistently due to a battery disconnect.
Can you calibrate the locks with your diagnostics?

Can’t find anything on the IID tool about calibrating doors etc.

Turned off keyless entry and both rear doors can no longer be opened from outside with rear child security off or on.

With keyless entry turned back on, both rear doors can be opened from outside BUT must be opened very quickly before they lock again?

I’ve referred all this back to the main dealer who replaced the earth stud on the basis that the locking was all perfect before it went into them for the repair….awaiting a response from workshop control……

These are the faults I’m getting:

DDM-Driver Door
B1A98-87 (2F) Local interconnection network bus circuit 1 - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message

PDM-Passenger Door
B1A98-87 (2F) Local interconnection network bus circuit 1 - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message

DDM-Driver Door
B110C-92 (2F) Rear door driver side power child locking motor - Component failure - performance or incorrect operation
B110D-92 (2F) Rear door passenger side power child locking motor - Component failure - performance or incorrect operation

Any help greatly appreciated…thanks

That's good news, I'm still convinced it was a plausibility error, maybe one of the rear doors was open when they disconnected the battery and closed when they reconnected it? Who knows - anyway, it's fixed now!

Hi @kgeddes, I am having the same issue as you described, rear passenger doors are not opening from inside and sometimes window won’t roll dow or Up. Could you please guide me what needs to be done on this issue. Child lock is off and I am seeing the same error message as you have posted. I am having Rangerover Autobiography 2015 model.
I tried to use the key which came with the remote to unlock from the side of the door but they’re is no luc even they are not turning.

Passenger Door Handle not working

Hi @kgeddes I have observed that the control module inside the door is causing that fault issue.
I used a very wet cloth to clean the seat memory control unit in the rear passenger, some of the water from the cloth went into the control unit inside the door panel. Which is short circuited and I removed and cleaned that chip inside the unit and I see the code is no more showing up on the dash and I can see the child security is off. I guess that fixed my issue.
But the door handles are still not working from inside, and when I pull the latch with out attaching it to the handle and it’s working but when I attach it to the handle it not working. That’s strange. Any inputs on this.?
