Well I got it apart and it looks like someone had been playing before as the internal rubber seal had been badly fitted and was pulling the lens away from the camera, a bit of reseating and all seems well...

Maybe not HD but good enough to reverse to

Thanks guys, it now has the lens as tight to the camera base as possible, another couple of mm would probably help but it would mean grinding something down and I don't think it's worth the risk... it looks better in the flesh than that pic so is fine for reversing...
