United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

For those on this thread looking for an L322, don't be put off. I looked at 14 before I found the right one, even that one needed a bit of money spending on it. I didn't spend the full budget buying the car though, in fact what started out as a hunt for a £15 to £20k car, turned into a £6k car with a £4k contingency fund. I'm happy to say that other than the missed manifold which came in around the £1500 mark, I'm into the car for less than £10k and very happy with the result.

The key is to not overthink, get it looked at by a specialist if possible, or take someone (from the forum maybe) who knows what to look at but be mindful of the fact that you are buying a complicated vehicle to begin with and that there is potential for a few expensive jobs. If you are happy to do a bit yourself then that is even better.

We've got a good scene building down here in Hampshire where there is a good local knowledge base and if someone hasn't overcome a problem locally, the forum is a wealth of knowledge and there are good specialists on hand as well. I'm not sure I'd want to own an L322 without access to this forum mind! Current vehicles:
1944 Fordson Standard
1982 Land Rover Series 3 88" petrol
1984 Ford 4610
2009 3.6 TDV8 Vogue
2017 CLS Shooting Brake

All good advice Thumbs Up

And yes, I’ve created a buyer beware thread with the registration number and VIN.

When I was at Glenrands I was talking to the owner, Ross, and it turned out he was just prepping one of his own cars for sale… A 2010 3.6 TDV8 Range Rover Sport HSE. It wasn’t quite what I was looking for, but the price was right and it obviously had the rubber stamp from Ross and team, so I bought it Very Happy

I’m not completely giving up on the idea of buying a FFRR, but this RRS will certainly do for now Thumbs Up

Funny how things work out.

Nice one. I won’t say it sounds cracking, as I said that about the last one 🤣 but definitely sounds to be on a firm footing…

Enjoy. Can scratch the L322 itch next….

Well it's been an interesting 48h...

The team at Glenrands did a very thorough job at a very reasonable price, I just wish the outcome had been better. The list of problems was practically endless, but here are some of the highlights:

I was expecting the car to need some work, but those last two items were a step too far for my liking. Thankfully I bought the car from a dealer and was able to exercise my right to reject and received a full refund.

I'm a couple of hundred quid out of pocket, but on the flip side I did enjoy the FFRR experience for a week and a half.

The search continues!

Blimey! You ducked a bullet there! I did the same and had a follow up check at my local Indy RR specialist on my TDV8 4.4 and, thank goodness, it came back with just a few items to watch or do myself.

I’ve had it now since April and am chuffed to bits with it. The only nasty surprise was light wheel arch/sill cover surface corrosion which I dealt with when it was treated in Dintrinol under seal.

The most noticeable change from the Evoque which I had before was how back level the Sat Nav capability is but I plan to fix that with an upgrade to Apple CarPlay.

I encourage you to continue your search for a L322; check out the for sale section on here as there are a couple of nice ones listed. My pick, if I were in the market, would be the Bronze one. TDV8 4.4 2012
