jpurnell it's good to hear that it works well. I was considering Naviks also. It looked good as well. I'm not close to New York though, so I would have do have it shipped anyway and with the strong dollar, Unique AD is slightly lower priced yet seeming to have good support so that's some of the reasons I went with that.

If I was close to New York I would probably also have gone with Naviks.

And yeah to know that you can remove the system and get everything back to factory is nice to know. In general I like the idea that these solutions are very close to stock and doesn't mess with the rest of the factory functionality. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp

Update: I have received and installed the Unique AD unit. The install could be improved a bit, but it's there and CarPlay with the main features of navigation and music works.

I'll probably post more updates some other time. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp

I'd love to know how the Unique installation went. I had looked at this system but was perturbed by a review on their own website which commented that the audio quality of the whole system was not great post-installation.

Hope cxdood might have some thoughts after running this upgrade for six months Thumbs Up 2016 SDV8 AB

I've had some issues with it. Sometimes a black screen if a certain iPhone is connected via wireless Carplay, so we had to unpair that one from the Unique unit.

Another issue with the Unique unit is that one of the cable's length didn't match the one in their video so installation isn't as good as in the video.

They say there is full steering wheel controls, but the previous/next skip buttons don't do anything - I don't know if other units support that feature.

Another issue is that when changing from Carplay to the car camera view for instance the buttons don't always work for selecting the special camera views. In general sometimes that button clicks apply to the Unique/carplay unit instead of the OEM car menu even though the car menu is being displayed.

The sound seems fine. When it works it's nice. Some of these issues you can work around, but I'm not completely happy with it. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp

Anyone tried this one? Uses the standard screen.

This one is the cheapest. They all seem pretty similar, with a unit that replaces the factory nav unit.

I think it’s hilarious when I made a suggestion, I was attacked and he isn’t happy with ignoring my suggestion and it only took him 2 years to make a decision, but if it takes someone 2 years, then they probably don’t take well to suggestions, even after posting on a public platform asking the public for advice. I can only bellow like a dwarf outta a peter Jackson movie: BWAHAHAHA!
