Burning clutch like smell - near to drivers door 4.4 8

2011 4.4v8

Noticed after a bit of a drive a hot burning clutch type smell coming from under the car near to the drivers door. No issues with shifting gear or strange noises. Can’t see any fluid on driveway or after parked up. Thought maybe it was a sticking calliper or brake issues, but no heat coming from any of the 4 wheels.

Any suggestions, anything running underneath close to the drivers door that could give off this smell?

Rear callipers are prone to seizing - feel the wheels for excess heat after a run. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Maybe the vehicle had just completed a DPF cleaning cycle. This can sometimes result in a strage hot smell from under the car.
