Deployable steps

So, I jacked up my car as per the instructions in the handbook โ€œthe deployable steps must be deployed when jacking upโ€ and have now broken the front mount ๐Ÿ™ anyone know the part number for the front bracket?

The steps must be stowed to jack the car up sir... Never jack the car up on a deployed step! The brackets are made of cast aluminium and are made to brake in an impact situation so as to not damage the cars structure... Embarassed

For anyone reading this in the future... Look underneath your step and there is a recess for the jack. BUT... Only jack the car up with the steps stowed in the closed position... Thumbs Up

Ever so slightly contradictory. As a newbie owner Iโ€™m glad I saw this post before attempting to raise my car.
Hope you manage to get the bracket you need 2016 4.4 diesel

I guess it's technically correct - the steps need to be deployed to access the jacking points - although why you'd need to access the jacking points other than to jack up the car isn't clear....

As above, for anyone with deployable steps, you use the built in jacking point that hangs below, with the step stowed -

Do the steps just unbolt from the brackets? Or is there a trick to getting them off?

Many thanks 2017 (67) Vogue SE Corinthian Grey
