Well done on getting to the last of your issues it's interesting the petrol return line from the removed lpg was causing that last problem.

I do have an interest in that said return line...the 4. 2 supercharge engine needs a petrol return line to send the unused petrol back to the tank to maintain correct fuel pressure readings at the fuel pressure sensor when running on lpg as the fuel pump cannot be shut off like most lpg installs as the 4.2 sc uses a variable speed fuel pump to maintain fuel pressure depending on engine load.........I digress sorry there is a retrictor somewhere in the return fuel line usually in the rubber hose on 1 side or the other at that solinoid .

There lies my interest the restrictor I didn't know about this when I replaced my return petrol line on my sport 4.2 sc so binned it i didn't know it was in the hose i binned it was rotten, iv now got to fit a restrictor it's oddly often a welding tip just pushed into the hose I know I know but it's internal diameter is crucial in maintaining the correct fuel pressure at the sensor.

If you find it.....any chance I can get you to mail it to me please ? It mite not be a welding tip sometimes it's a boost pill as used on other cars with varying internal size it can be 1mm 1.5mm or other.

I can just experiment with different size welding tips if need be, if I use the lpg on the sport it can stall out when switching between fuels ouch at a junction

I didn’t see anything in the pipe at all.

In the pipe all I had was the return regulator that you could turn the thumb screw on to change the pressure in which it let fuel bleed back to the tank.

That mite explain it if I adjust the screw on mine it either let's fuel threw or shuts it off completly, a manual shut off incase it fails.

This thing must know I’ve been talking about getting rid of it… Out in it tonight and I smelt something was a bit warm when we pulled up. Quick look around it and I noticed the rear drivers side wheel was warm to touch.

Typical as I’m meant to be helping my brother move house with the trailer on Wednesday evening so I need a rear caliper quickly. Thinking I might as well do both as they’re a common point of failure.

Before you jump into replacing the calipers, stick a pry bar behind them and see if you've got any free movement. I had it on mine where I drove maybe about 300 mile n thought something seemed like it was holding it back. Turned out too be the caliper but I'm 300 mile away from home so grabbed a screw driver and prised it back. Been fine ever since n I've prob stuck on another 10k

If I can’t get one before Wednesday I’ll give that a try. I managed to get home so the caliper isn’t seized solid but the wheel was warm.

As I’m going to be selling her, I’ll change the pair of rear callipers. I can’t sell it knowing something might not be right.

There's a few things that are leading me towards getting rid at the moment...

I’ve got too many cars and since the little one arrived in December I just don’t have the time to work on them to keep them at a standard which I’m happy. If there’s something that annoys me on a car I just don’t use it till it’s fixed.

The other thing that’s annoying me a bit more than it used to is the economy. With Matthew and his car seat the RR is the perfect car so it’s used almost daily now. My wife uses it with the little one when she never used to drive it. We’re quite rural here so the car isn’t averaging much more then 13mpg when being driven sensibly. It’s not a fault with the car though as it does 25mpg on a run.

Finally, the last one that's annoying me is the road tax. I pay the tax on my XFR monthly as I quite often SORN it throughout the worst months of the winter. The tax renewal came through for that the other day at £729! I've worked it out and I reckon I'm spending over £2k a year on vehicle tax at the moment. Previously I've just paid it and got on with it but now I know what I'm spending it's really annoying me.

I've got the list of work done to this car with associated costs and I reckon this car owes me £15k now. Maybe a touch more. I’m not going to get 5 figures for it when I sell it so I am going to take a huge hit on it but when I started my restoration on it, Cheryl wasn’t even pregnant so my circumstances have changed

I keep looking at 4.4 TDV8’s to replace it but I also have a huge hankering for an RRS SVR. I reckon as a car to replace the XFR and RR it could be a great compromise. Well, compromise isn't the right word... but you know what I mean.

Additionally, if I get a 2017 SVR then the road tax is only £150 a year! That's 10% of what the current RR and XFR are costing so man maths starts to kick in! That doesn't solve the economy issue off the current car but at least it would be fun. Man maths also says that the £1350 saving in road tax pays for a lot of petrol

Getting rid of this L322 makes no financial sense whatsoever but I fancy a change and my circumstances have changed too so an SVR with an LR warranty on it so that I don't have to fix it just now is appealing. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather
