Having been driving for over 50 years I've never had a sunroof smashed or even heard of one being smashed so I wont be spending any more time worrying about it. Geoff |

It will be covered - but will be a regular claim and not a windscreen claim. So would affect NCD and be subject to normal excess. You're basically in the same position as someone with a metal roof. If a rock falls on it, you decide whether to make a claim or pay for the repair yourself. No cheap £100 windscreen excess option. |

Just prior to the first lockdown , on the A12 & a lorry spun a pice of angled metal off the road. Hit the windscreen AND the sunroof. Took them both out. I phoned Autoglass, & they said we will check your policy , Bingo I was covered as glass & I paid one lot of £75.00 excess . I seem to recall Autoglass saying it was about £4,000 of repairs, but I’m not quite sure. I always check to make sure both are covered…. What do they say about lightning… I drove to Autoglass in lockdown as an essential worker (farmer!) …. Very very strange . Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc He who dies with the most toys wins... |
