My rear washer works, but only one jet and it takes ages for water to appear. Which then continues even after I release the lever.
I'm thinking it must be the non return valve.

Anyway, I found this on ebay and was thinking of trying it:

I replaced the non return valve on mine with a cheap EBay item some time ago , so it was easy to extend the tube by simply removing the short tube into the wiper motor and using the valve as a back to back connector..

Craig,
I might be tempted to do away with the cable ties when the weather improves, but I have in mind stripping it all and securing the tubing to the wiper arm by threading them both through some black rubber shrinkdown tubing.

I have added a 90* back to back at the point it goes through the grommet since I took this photo to stop the tube getting kinked when the spoiler is tightened down.

The 90 elbow solved the pipe kinking problem and all eight jets fire water directly on to the glass at full force pressure much better than the original setup without the need to make any new hole.

Lovely mod - I have the same issue after rebuilding my rear washer motor and I'm not paying £180(c) for a secondhand unit to have the same issue.... Sad

Parts ordered - nice little weekend job coming up.... Thanks again. Thumbs Up Gavin

Following the advice on here I stripped and rebuilt the motor and gave one of those a go. Works pretty well, good flow of water across the screen. Easy to fit (I'm no mechanic) and my new to me RR has a clean rear screen for the first time in years I suspect!

How did it go?
I've still got a leak from the inlet spindle. I suspect I didnt prep the drive spindle well enough and its not sealing perfectly on the new rotary seal.
Asking myself can I be bothered to strip it all down again Banging Head

Got one of these fitted and a bit confused by the instructions. It says to remove the nipple on the original washer. Assuming that’s the plastic nipple that sticks out of the central spindle. I did that and ended up with water leaking into the rear hatch area.

Fitted another nipple part from a scrap washer and the leak has stopped, however the nylon printed nut with the dimples in doesn’t appear to have the strength to hold the wiper blade onto the spindle so I now have a floppy wiper arm that doesn’t operate.

I’ve messaged the seller for clarification but not heard back.

Going to strip everything down first the umpteenth time and use the original nut and drill some dimples into it to locate and lock the washer nut in place, but still confused on the nipple bit - do you remove it or not and exactly which nipple bit is it ?

Update - after stripping it all down again in the wind and rain and trying to fit the 3D printed washer mod into a new dimpled steel nut, the washer jet bit just wouldn't sit tight. The wiper arm was now held on tightly to the spindle, so that was good, but I'm left back where I started.

Bit the bullet and ended up buying a completely new OE arm and washer cap. I reckon as long as I use the jets relatively regularly they should self clean.

For those in the same situation with non operative jets, John Craddock do the arm and washer cap for £62 delivered. That's a much more palatable price than some of the other prices on line, so well done to them.

Out of interest - this is the washer nipple that I assume one has to cut off their washer motor assembly. If you do do that it's not reversible. You can't just buy the new nipple and without it you don't have a seal and will end up with a leaky mess. Well I did, so assuming it's the same principle applied.

Pretty sure I did not cut that nipple off when installing the twin jet 3d printed part. I'll check shortly and confirm

As you state its an integral part of the wiper motor spindle through which the washer fluid goes. Mine still has a small leak at the inlet, not as bad as it was though.

Thanks Peter. The instructions say “ Please see photo #2 for installation instructions and please note you will have to remove the plastic nipple from the wiper to fit this part.”

As that’s the only nipple in play, I’m assuming that would be the one that’s removed, potentially rendering the whole wiper system useless if you want to wash your back screen.

Luckily it’s not an MoT fail, but a bit frustrating to go from wanting to improve your washer function to having to buy a new wiper motor due to poor instructions.
