Had an interim oil change recently, after about 300 miles, I checked the oil level and got the Oil level not available notice, I was away and have tried daily but still no oil level available, just had the system scanned and have the codes P250B 29, P250D37, P250B 64, P250A 38 and P250B 87. There is no notification of component failure.

I believe the independent who did the oil change drained the oil by unplugging the suction tube from the sump.

Any ideas ?

Try opening the bonnet, engine off, then double click on the cruise control cancel button.

Thanks for the swift reply, I have tried that but it didn't work, I couldn't find any reference to the sequence working on post 2018 facelift cars, should it?

Mine is Facelift 2018 and this works.

To read Oil level
Simply pull the bonnet release, get in and press the start buttton (without your foot on the brake).

Press "OK" to clear any warnings ( including'bonnet open' )- once they are clear, do the oil check as normal but when it comes up "unavailable" press 'cancel' on the cruise control twice - your oil level shows!

However it could be 375 has this been done?

Thanks, but mine is a 2020 v6, there are no outstanding campaigns, the oil level sender and wiring are different to your v8, and this maybe why the sequence you suggest doesn't work.

@Monty:
Had similar on my 2017 when I first got it, and after much frustration my local indy found someone had unplugged the cable from the sender under the car! Simple fix, so worth checking.

Its finally stopped raining long enough for me to get under the car and remove the undertray and the issue is I believe resolved:

The sensor connector was not fully engaged and was covered in oil, there is no obvious source for this oil unless it was a spill from refilling or, a spray from disconnecting the tube to drain though the sensor connector is some distance away.

Once the connector had been cleaned and properly connected, by using the open bonnet dbl click on cruise cancel, a level reading was obtained and all is back to normal..

Quite how this occurred remains a mystery.

The oil is coming through the sensor wiring, it’s a known issue.
Let me (or someone) try to find you the appropriate threads…..

There is an updated loom fix for this, bear with us….. :thumbsup:

Hi No I don't think it does, I believe it is a different sensor and loom.

Hi Monty, sorry if that was a red herring, but checking online gets confusing results, and the WM on here isn’t easily searchable and seems to be V8-oriented.

Is below what we have on the V6? and does someone know if that still plugs into the same trumpet-shaped level sender as the V8?

Here’s a weird one, just changed the oil on my wife’s 2016 3.0 RRS and reset the service interval (same procedure as the Fat) but it’s only reset to 4400 rather than the expected 16000+ miles. Appreciate it’s not an FFRR but does anyone have any idea why this might be? 2017 Vogue SE
