Locked In Drive, Engine off,

Hi , need some helpful advise.
Pulled up a mile from home, engine running, couldn't select park, turned engine off, rotary dial still up.
Can't select park to start engine, dial still up?
What does anyone know?

I’m pretty sure that under the bottom of the cup holder there is a red lever thing that if you pull it it puts the gearbox in neutral. That said, hopefully the issue you currently have won’t stop it working.

Hope it helps. Others who have had the exact issue may have other ideas.

Cheers, we've found that already, suspected drive selector solenoid issue.
They are on Ebay second hand for about 150-180

Ah, ok, so figured then you can get it in neutral to start engine but can’t move gear selector. I’m stuck with that one without more forum searching, not had that issue I’m afraid.

So, Here's an update if you have an L405 made before 2016, apparently the electronic motorised gear selector can be re-furbished, there are a handful of companies in the UK that do it, you just have to get it out and send it to them. After 2016 they are a sealed unit.
After contacting a couple of wannabies from Ebay , although the guy in ESSEX seemed to know his stuff, my local Indy has taken control of it and using someone they know who does it, about the same price, all in, including removal and refitting £400.
While the drive is out it gives me the opportunity to address the 'razors' edge cup holder drawer.
