There was me thinking I needed to replace the strap…

Mine started creaking about a month after I got it (MY17) - I chucked some oil on it and the noise went.

Back again today! Will loosen/retighten the bolt - thanks Craig!

Mine has started creaking again but only since the hot weather arrived at the weekend.

Being in Scotland I'm sure the creak will disappear next week when the weather returns to normal Laughing but a good tip re the torx bolt.

Bolt removal not fixed it

Hi all

My creak seems to be coming from the door end of the check strap. If I put my finger on the strap when opening and closing the door I can feel the vibrations as the creak happens and they seem stronger at the door end.

I removed the fixing bolt from the body, cleaned it of the original blue thread lock. Put some fresh thread lock on and refitted it. Creaking noise is still there.

I've put white grease and normal grease on the strap but no change.

God, it's annoying.

Passenger side front door is fine. Maybe I should get in that side and climb over..

Any suggestions on this issue?

Had a similar issue from when I bought the car, check strap replaced about a year ago( £20) problem gone.
