No heat, no cooling 4.4 TDV8

Here’s one for the HVAC gurus: I currently have neither heating nor cooling in the car. No faults reported on GAP. Changing the temp dials does result in the fans and blend motors doing their thing, but I’m just getting what feels like “fresh” air from outside the cabin. I’ve had the cabin filter out to make sure the flaps are opening / closing as required - all working fine as far as I can see.

I’m hoping it’s something simple. Any ideas for me?

Thanks! -------------------------

Probably the heater control valve. I replaced the original with an ebay special 18 months ago and have had to do it again. Consider genuine parts if you plan on keeping it. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Thanks - i.e. the crossover valve, right?

I have a “genuine” Gates valve on order, I saw the cheapo parts on offer and also the eye-watering prices of the original LR part, but sourced it back to Gates (apparently original manufacturers) thanks to a contact at BMW. Part no. Gates EHV133 for those interested.

Fingers crossed… -------------------------
