Silly question, have you checked tyres and wheels for buckles? I had nasty vibration turned out the inside of one tyre had a bulge, 2 new tyres later vibration gone. |

Is it worth swapping the front wheels to the back and see what happens? |

Does the vibration increase with road speed or engine speed or engine load, indicating drive-line or engine / torque converter issue?

Sounds like you're doing a great job replacing parts. It will be great once you nail it down. Random one, there aren't any wheel spacers on it are there? Even hub-centric ones can incite vibrations through the car.

My Wife's P38 had a similar problem which turned out to be the viscous Fan. Does the vibration happen when reving the engine in neutral? Something else to eliminate. 🙂 |

I have discovered an issue with my Westminster which is giving me a vibration, albeit, it is most noticeable when pulling away and at low speed. Investigations by my Rangie specialist has uncovered some wear in a rear hub knuckle which was allowing a bush to slide out of position. That was affecting the rear wheel camber and causing the vibration.

Thanks - I have now had front wheel bearings & hubs & cvs replaced also handbrake shoes and guides. Still an issue. Really getting frustrated now! I rekon it could be coming from the rear as everything at the front has been replaced. @Proftinkerpot - Is your specialist in the UK? My rear tie rods need changing as one rear wheel is apparently sticking out at front (camber is ok)..... Doesn't happen in Neutral unless the wheels are turning. I can hear an audible whirring almost from standstill as soon as the wheels are turning, still there in neutral.... wonder if rear bearings could cause this but not sure what it would cost to have rear bearings and toe links changed\? I must add, it doesn't seem that anything changes when turning/swaying. the whirr/vibration is the same. I do feel as if when I accelerate hard the vibration is much less and when you let of on decceleration/coasting it is the worst......i could be mistaken though. When I accelerate away gently it's noticeable at 20/30mph quite obviously. obvious at 50 and then worse and worse at speed it seems. |
