Anyone know this '15 L405 TDV8 & why it needed a new eng

This popped up on Autotrader yesterday, anyone know it?

I realise there's no number plate, but you may recall your engine going bang! Sad

Seems a little odd, as it's a TDV8 with only 86K miles, looks tidy, decent rubber AND 10 service stamps from LR & Indy's, but needed a replacement engine?

No idea on the history, but very tidy looking car. I am pretty sure they are not genuine wheels (I may be wrong, or at least not the right ones for L405 as that style is different on the L405, they look like Discovery 5 wheels diamond cut maybe?) the other thing to look for is how long is the warranty on the new engine? given history of engines going pop quite probably not that unusual.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

You can get the reg off Autotrader by clicking the 'get insurance quote' - it opens up a new tab and the reg will be in the box on the page.

As an aside you can download an extension for chrome (other browsers are available) that will show the listing date (although this is also available in the page URL) and all the prices.

BTW that seems a lot for a 2015 given the current market.

There have been at least a couple of well maintained SDV8's gone pop - 4RRS & Redmerle amongst others.

Nice tip, thanks! I'll give that a go! Smile

I never knew that, I'll see if there's a version for Firefox! Thumbs Up

Agreed, it was probably a little 'North' of where it should be, given it was only a Vogue spec, but the mileage was relatively low and the Mariana Black colour might have played a part. It certainly looked like a nice car from the photo's.

There are 2015 AB's with similar mileage for that sort of money, so I assume the sellers were pricing in the replacement engine to some extent?

I didn't personally see the replacement engine as a positive, if I'm honest, that fact put me off to some degree, so on reflection I didn't follow up on this particular vehicle.
