Simple Tip.
Drill a small hole 1mm is enough in the bung, through the length of the bung, about 3cm, use a longish 3mm screw into the hole you just drilled about 1cm in should do, pull out the pin with pliers.
You should be able to now lever out the jacking pad from the end using a large flat blade screwdriver.
This way you can refit the pad, reinsert the bung and reuse it, just screw the extraction screw back in all the way and preserves the integrity of the bung and stops it dropping out again. Best use a stainless steel screw though as it will rot quickly in that area and you can easily extract the bung next time around.
