Jacking Block Alternatives - L322

All in the title - had to drill a jacking block retaining pin out to get a bare sill for inspection and now the pin doesn’t create the right tension on the block.

Have fiddled and faffed with it to try and use all sorts to create a more snug fit to no avail.

Have also found the part KAV100041, isn’t in stock anywhere so wondering if anyone has found alternative parts that fit?

Best,

Ed

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Giverny Green

I purchased BMW jack pads from this seller a year or so ago. They are what was fitted to my 2003 model. £13 for a set of 4 on eBay. Although the feedback rating is not that good I didn't have any issues with delivery etc.

Im sure there are loads more sellers out there just look for BMW rather than Land Rover. On one of the pads the mounting hole was too corroded so I drilled two 4 or 5mm holes give or take and attached it using screws with countersunk heads - I can't remember for sure but I think I needed to tap the holes as the metal was too thick for self tappers. Whatever, it secured the pad better then the plastic plugs for sure

Scotland 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Fuji White

Simple Tip.

Drill a small hole 1mm is enough in the bung, through the length of the bung, about 3cm, use a longish 3mm screw into the hole you just drilled about 1cm in should do, pull out the pin with pliers.

You should be able to now lever out the jacking pad from the end using a large flat blade screwdriver.

This way you can refit the pad, reinsert the bung and reuse it, just screw the extraction screw back in all the way and preserves the integrity of the bung and stops it dropping out again. Best use a stainless steel screw though as it will rot quickly in that area and you can easily extract the bung next time around.

A.

Thanks both - I did buy a set of Febi Bilstein BMW ones and the winglets broke when I was trying insert them. They looked the same as the ones you linked but were for a different BMW model.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong? The old ones slotted straight in but the BMW ones didn’t seem to quite fit?

Will give the other ones a go!
