L405 Battery Change

Hi all. Apologies if this has been covered but the search function has not helped me find me an answer.
I have successfully changed my 2019 L405 P525 battery uneventfully and all is working well.
As I own a GAP IId tool I plugged it in to do the battery reset but the battery does not come up under the BCM menu - just the message ‘enable protected functions’.
I’ve not been brave enough run that routine as I suspect this is the LR security update doing this, but I may be wrong.
My questions are:
1. Shall I just forget all of this battery update thing and get on with my life?
2. Should I just “enable protected functions”
3. Anything else?
TIA

Enable protected functions is a bcm setting that if for say you have a short on a vanity mirror supply, the bcm shuts the power off to that circuit as it is unfused, enable protected functions would re-enable the output assuming the fault was cured. You only need to run this if you have a dtc stating that a protected function has been disabled.

On the 2016MY Battery reset is found under BCM, but not sure on 2019, are you using a gen 4 IID? L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

What version of firmware do you have on your Gap tool? It might need an update. I didn’t have a few features on mine until I did an update and as if by magic, they all appeared Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Solved!

The device was running the right firmware but the battery reset function is in a different menu to The BCM as was in the manual.
It’s in the “GWM Gateway Module” for my 2019 V8 SC AB
With thanks for your help and Patrick From GAP Diagnostics for a quick reply
Thumbs Up
