A simple drain and refill is fairly straight forward on the ZF boxes. But afaik changing the filter is trickier as you have to drop the transmission crossmember. To get the pan filter off. Definitely worth swapping the fluid out.

Thanks for that, is there no way an air line would push the oil out the cooler and tubes? |

The issue you have is the cooler is thermostatically controlled and opens at 82*C so you can’t just ‘blow’ the oil through the cooler. The only way to do a full flush is with a machine, otherwise it is just a case of drain and refill and a short drive before repeating a few times to get almost all the oil changed. |
