Replacing VVT - LR177463 (superseeds LR126832)

My 2018 L405 has most likely an issue with the Engine Variable Valve Timing (VVT), which is describe in more details here https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10183920-0001.pdf. That's what the DTC indicated.

It refers to Technical Bulletin N481NAS,
Service Action: Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) Solenoids, for detailed repair
instructions.

Looking for this service bulletin and experience. Can see the solenoid but this one is pretty deep in the back of the engine....

Only 2 screws but still hestitant and therefor looking for more details

Search the jaguar forums. I remember seeing a sticky there for replacing the vvt solenoids. If memory serves me correctly, it was a simple bolt off the old one and bolt on the new procedure.

Thanks for your help. I've seen and read that post. There it looks indeed straight forward, but the L405 needs some more stuf to be removed (wipers, bars) before I can access it. As always, it helps if you know what and how-to avoid unnecessary steps.

Removing the cowl and center bulkhead is straightforward and similar across all L405 engines. Download the service manual from the forum's Wiki link and look at the cowl removal and center bulkhead removal in the Front End Body Panels section.

My attempt today was partly successful. I managed to come close the the sensor, but even in the lowest height, it was still far under the front window behind the back of the 2.0l engine. Needed a mirror to see the sensor and there were tubes in the way. Did not try to undo the visible bolt and decided to make it someones else challenge.
