2015 tdv6 , tailgate not functioning fully or capable of reseting and deployable towbar just bleeps
Codes are U0140-00 and U0447-00
So a BCM fault and gateway signal
There are no actual faults on the dash though

Check voltage in both batteries (if you have two)

Low voltage is the leading cause of tailgate problems...  Pete

Hmmm ? The small battery has been left go flat because previous owner didn't like stop start ! Then main one is new and charging at over 14v , so you think i should try a new small one?? Oh the tow hitch works great , i had the engine running so it didnt work

What's the tailgate doing (or not doing) ?

Upper, lower or both ?

I was just going to say the towbar won't operate with the engine running...

So currently the upper goes about 2/3 of the way up and stops , the lower does nothing, neither will close off the buttons , if i open fully by hand and hold button , i get 3 beeps , on occasion i can feel it resist if i pull to close

No error codes ?

When my upper tailgate wouldn't rise all the way, it was an actuator issue & needed one replacing (so I replaced both) but that logged an error code.

posted codes at the top pal , where are the anit-trap sensors exactly ?

If those are the only codes, then it's likely something different.

The lower anti-trap sensors are the rubber strips that run up either side of the inside of the tailgate

So whats the way forward ? Will gap tool show exactly what's causing the issue ??

What are you reading the codes with now ? I'm not sure whether all readers are capable of reading all codes..... so not sure whether GAP IID would be any better or not......
