Switzerland 2007 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Oslo Blue
2009 TDV8 Light Control Module - Intermittent Fault.

Hi Folks,

My 2009 TDV8 HSE has an intermmittent fault where regardless of which direction i'm turning only the right side indicators work. When this fault shows, I have an issue where the Bi Xenon will not switch to main beam.

It tries, but doesn't quite make it.

No other symptoms.

In order to have a good baseline I replaced the battery with a brand new one, and I replaced the Bi Xenon bulbs. No difference. I pulled every fuse and relay and put back in, and checked all the earth points on the car. All look good.

My scan tool doesn't show anything in particular, but it is also not the most sophisticated one.

I did some research here and discovered that there is a Light Control Module at the base of the A pillar. I found it surprisingly easy to get to.

Is this the most likely culprit. Module number is YWC500282. There is some conflicting info on needing to be reprogrammed for the car. My car is a HSE so if I got as suitable unit from a HSE or Vogue, I should have at least the same functions I have now??

Should I be looking elsewhere?

I am trying to source a used module to see if that fixes the issues. Not too keen to spend 850 quid on one though if I'm not sure that is the problem...

Many thanks in advance.
