The Journey has started and where will it take me | |
Hi all. I frequented these pages until over a year ago visiting from the RRS site, having had my RRS for just over 7 years. The car was great and only let me down once, which I put it down to open wallet maintenance by Steve & George at T&S Norman. Anyway I chose to change last May and came across my current car, a CLS 220 Shooting brake. I was sucked in by the shape having never noticed one before, it's just lovely. It's an E class underneath and is huge. The boot is big enough for our 2 dogs, has great economy, plenty of shove and £190 on VED. But I just can't bond with the car like I did with the RRS. Those naughty thoughts are gaining attention and I have mentioned it to the El Presidentè who rolled her eyes. So I've sneakily started to look with the intension of seriously looking in early Sep. I'm naturally a slow methodical researcher. I've found a few and I'll link them below for your thoughts and recommendations.......

these may still be around come September, if they're not then so be it.
Are these alloys prone to buckling?. Also I retired last September and so my mileage is not a lot. I recall reading owners saying about DPF issues through lack of getting up to temp and doing their cycles. Also oil dilution, now I'm looking at an age of car that may have been exposed to this previously. How do I know if that would have been the case as the DPF will mask blue smoke. Hopefully I've put that across well.
Steve. Hunt for a L405 is on.
