Sigh. Rolling Eyes Laughing

So dampers ordered, I’ve read on here that it can be down without seats out …I presume just from the boot side to get access , many tried it that way ? V8 or else ...

I replaced mine last seek. No need to take the seats out but it’s tricky. There’s a stabiliser bar that needs to be removed to get to 2 of the top nuts as well as the boot liner and the associated trims.

If you need to know more, ping me a message. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

thank you.

I watched the video on raymiesgarage on youtube about it which showed the seats coming out, but on re-searching also found the Lucky 8 video below

where they've accessed the bolts without the seats and without the strut bars coming off too. So that might be a first attempt that way. V8 or else ...

Yeah. I watched Raymies video first but I can’t see how you can get the top shocker bolts off without taking off the strut bars off, well at least 2 of them, but I wish you the best of luck! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

The chap in the lucky8 video ( at 3mins mark ) says put the socket fully on the nut first, then put the square socket extension bar into the socket at an angle afterwards as a lot of the modern socket bars can be run at slight angles if you dont fully insert them.

I'll report back when I try it ! V8 or else ...

For a fleeting moment I thought, oh ya dancer … if it’s brakes that’ll be a lot cheaper. Raced outside, check and guess what …

It’s the not the brakes Big Cry

Ah well V8 or else ...

This is good timing as mine needs doing as well.
Where did you get the dampers from and which ones did you buy, did you also replace all the nots and bolts.
Some photos as you go along would also be great. letters not necessarily in the right order

The dunlop ones from maltings. I dont have experience/knowledge of the aerosus ones which show up as cheaper, but the relative smaller difference for dunlop ones sat a bit better in my mind.

Bolts ... I've not read it for the dampers, the workshop manual normally says to replace bolts. If I'm brutally honest, I could see myself re-using them.

Yes, I'll take some photos and stick on here. V8 or else ...
