XJ8 ZF5HP24 Sonnax or TransGo

Hello from a Kent Newbie.

I'm looking for opinions/advice on the best route for my 5hp24 fix. I have a pressure reg error code on a '98 Daimler XJ8 with slightly clunky engagement going into drive and reverse. It's an old family car that has been in storage for many years and I'm bringing it back to life.
(I have a '96 P38 too so hoping that gets me some points!)

I've been advised by Jag owners that it's probably a worn pressure valve/bore so I should fit the TransGo kit.

Doing my research led me here and RRPhil's very in depth posts.

So my question is if I'm taking the front valve body out anyway am I better to go the Sonnax route (guessing a fair bit more expensive but better) or will the Transgo kit suffice?

Phil are you still in working on these as I saw your post about retiring? You do seem to be the go to guy for these and certainly have the cleanest workbench I've ever seen!

Thank you in advance.
Will

Just realised I've put this in the wrong forum guessing it should be L322 technical. Can I move it myself?

Hi, Yes I realise that but the ZF gearbox is the same model as used on the 332 and you have many threads relating to the repair of it specifically the regulator valve hence my post. I actually got referred here after reading RRPhill's post that was quoted on the Jag forum. Somebody on there mentioned they had used him in the past and he could be contacted here.

Just after advice/opinions on the best course of action from those that may have already been there.
