Hey David, I just wanted to extend my thanks to posting and documenting your issue as Ive been encountering the same juddering/jerking under light acceleration during highway speeds which has been intermittent over the course of 2-3 years. Lately its been occurring more frequently. Its extremely random too, I can restart the engine and it goes away. 2011 Range Rover Sport 5.0 SC.
Ive replaced the injectors on the car (during the timing chain replacement), and installed brand new MAFs. Ive smoked tested the engine in various places and addressed all intake track leaks.

After reading this thread Ive ordered a new set of solenoids, dampers, sandwich plate, seal kit and Metal Pan (I have an L320, so installing OE pan is pain!)
Like you I do not want to replace the TC as everyone seems to blame that once juddering/shuddering occurs.
Im cautiously optimistic the new solenoids and dampers will cure this problem.!

Ooooh, I’m very keen on the Aston Martin Touchtronic II transmission, in fact I have three on my workbench at the moment. One is a 037 unit (4G4370041AF) from a 2006 DB9, the second is a 084 model (8G4370041AB) from a 2008 DB9 and the third is a 097 unit (CD3370041AA) from a 2013 Rapide. Gorgeous!





The Graziano final drive is rather fabulous, too, with its amboid crown wheel & pinion setup!

For a novice trying to learn how to do this all myself, would you now suggest:
Step 1: change trans filter and fluid
If symptoms remain,
Step 2: change trans filter and fluid
If symptoms remain,
Step 3: change the solenoids
If symptoms remain,
Step 4: change TC
If symptoms remain,
Step 5: change transmission
