I don't think the 3.6 needs mapping, just blanking off.

I am sure if you search on here you will find the answer. 2012 Vogue TDV8 in Aintree green over sand

As Toby suggested above I just blanked mine and had no issues at all. You notice the difference immediately, especially when setting off from junctions onto busy main roads. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family šŸ˜€

Best to map it out as blanking just prevents the EGR gases from circulating but the valve is still operating and it's this that breaks apart and does the damage. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

If you blank both sides of the egrs there's no worries about broken egr valve head parts going anywhere. However unless electronically mapped out they can still fail electrically and cause fault codes - even if not causing any other running issues. Paul,

I blanked mine, all fine, after 3 years there was an error message, did the BAS EGR delete on the IID no further problems.

I did the EGR delete as soon as I got the car home, so no, I don't have any comparison for a before or after. Seeing the state of the EGR pipes after removing them it is quite worrying the amount of cr*p going back into the combustion chambers, I do change the oil twice a year under the motto oil is cheaper than metal, especially turbos, the gearbox oil is changed every 30K, maintenance is everything as far as I'm concerned and preventing the EGR from destroying the engine is part of that philosophy.

Some need a remap after blanking out otherwise the EML light will come on.

I did mine and used the BAS remap and all was well. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

What difference did you notice after having them mapped out?

I had a very small improvement in MPG but the main difference in my car was the removal of the momentary lag when pulling out of a junction or setting off from traffic lights.
One of my EGR valves threw a fault so I replaced both (that was fun 😬) prior to blanking them. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family šŸ˜€
