Hi all

Recently did rear shoes, discs and pads. I believe I clicked the adjusters till wheel too tight to turn then undid the adjuster 6 clicks or so. Now when I pull the handbrake button, it all sounds fine but it is not quite holding car on hill, partially so it isn't too far away.

So do I wind the adjustor in a click or two or am I best to do the calibration sequence where you drive about and pull HB on umpteen times in a specific service mode on dash? does that make HB adjust or what is actual point of it? is it just to bed shoes in or does it actually adjust anything, any help as to my best way to progress welcome, many thanks

I've had success just adjusting mine the old fashioned way, but my understanding was that when the time comes to replace the shoes it's important to follow the correct procedure that you refer to.

Same setup on D3/D4/RRS..

Note the torque wrench for setting of the star wheel, the additional Allen bolt adjuster, and bedding in procedure.

Have you followed the bedding in procedure properly?

Mine was crap before I carried out the bedding in procedure but is much better afterwards.

Does the procedure actually tighten up the hand brake, I was under impression its just for bedding shoes in but I would still need to manually adjust them, or am I wrong on this. Has anybody had bad handbrake and done procedure on road and then HB works? I have not done either yet, looking for guidance on which way is best

I did the procedure after removing the brake disks and refitting, the whole procedure is a bit of a faf and you need a fair stretch of quiet road to do it but it does adjust the handbrake.

fairly confident its assembled correctly so will look to adjust a little on the wee knurled wheels and see what like. What has everybody generally adjusted it to, tighten till locked to moving by hand then unwind 6 clicks, what is general consensus?
