3.6 TDV8 l322 engine rebuild.

Hi all, im rebuilding my range rover 3.6tdv8 and it was marked when it was disembled. the marks on the cam shaft dont seem to line up to where the timing tool would fit. does any one know the firing order? i can just about work it out from there!
Ps... the machined mark on the crank puts cylinders 4 and 8 at TDC with cylinders 1 and 5 and the bottom of the stroke? is that correct?

How have Land Rover numbered the cylinders?
In my experience when you stand at the back of the engine looking forwards, towards the bumper, the RH bank is on your RH side and the left hand bank on the LH side. Cyl 1 is at the front of the engine on the RH bank and cyl 4 at the rear. Cyl 5 at the front of the LH bank and cyl 8 at the rear.
If cylinders 4&8 share the same crankshaft big end pin then they cannot be at TDC at the same time.
Land Rover could have numbered the cylinders completely differently.
So I think it all depends how LR have numbered the cylinders and the design of the crankshaft and if this correlates to how you have numbered the cylinders.
