MOT Time

Just had my MOT cancelled half way through by Halfords as my L322 is 'too tall for their lift'. The fact that it was in a massive shed about 4 or 5 times the height of the car baffles me a bit! Very Happy

How crackers is that!

I've had my mots from lightfoots garage in Neston for many years now. Great to deal with. Their online booking system is great!

'Too Tall'?! That's a first. I wonder how they came to realise? Shocked

Normally use a garage down the road in Oxton Happydaze but was closed while they're all on holiday.

Only used Halfords because I had voucher. Strange because they'd already done the emissions test which it passed and gave me a 'Fail due to test equipment failure' certificate but said it wouldn't appear on the cars MOT history with the DVLA.

Similar thing with my l322 and Halfords, failed MOT on subframe bushes and said they couldn't replace them as car was' too 'tall ' to work on with their ramp.

Took it elsewhere the following day, it passed MOT no problem and has done twice since with the same sub frame bushes ? RR owner

Was it because they didn’t have enough spacer blocks to jack the car wheels off the lift to check the suspension components, not so much the height of the car. It is quite high when they are checking this, mainly the front end.
