I have been looking for an Ipod connection kit for the FFRR for a while. I had discounted the official Land Rover option at about £500, fitted by a dealer, as too expensive.

I tried a lead from my Itouch from the headphone socket to the aux socket and found it was a distraction to change tracks or pause the unit.

I started looking for a generic kit that included a radio based remote control. I came across the Kensington LiquidAUX For iPhone And iPod for £44.71 on Amazon, here is the link:

It is a neat well made product. I decided to fit it in the arm rest, as it has a 12V socket and is close to the aux socket. For now the Itouch is held in a mobile phone vice type grip and sits loose on the arm rest. I stuck the remote using a scotch pad in front of the cup holders. If you do not have a phone fitted it could potentially sit in the top compartment.

I now have the ability to pause and skip tracks without taking my eye off the road. The sound quality is better than using the headphone jack and the Itouch is charged in situ. It is not obvious there is an Itouch in car when it is left on the street.

One issue I have encountered is the lead can be detached from the Itouch as my mount is loose. The remote then does not work. This can be easily fixed by using a fixed mount for the ipod/itouch.

Have you tried looking behind the centre console under a small flap

Earlier model Vogue SE's had the rear AUX input on the centre console under a flap, otherwise it became standard on the 2007MY I believe. Discovery 4 HSE

I have a 2007 Model year Vogue SE and the aux socket is at the rear of the centre console by the air vents for the rear passengers.

I am do not know if and where an aux socket exists in other models.

If you an aux input I can recommend the kit, if not the least hassle solution is using an FM transmitter, which I used before and was quite acceptable.

A 2002 Vogue wont have it - however 2002-2005? with the BMW infotainment center can use Intravee which allows track changing via the steering wheel controls and track info on the screen.
