Fitting Front Mudflaps

Right chaps got the brackets and removed lower panel under sharkfin grills. Although there are two holes in the bracket there is only one on the fixing location. I lined up the bracket and have drilled a second hole and fixed with a screw . Fitment is solid but the fixing points that sit into the front wheel arch seem to be in too far on the bottom. Am I right in thinking I can bend these so can align mudflaps properly and fit. It doesnt help that none of the screws actually fit but ive overcome this . Please advise. Thanks.

I took this pic from RRUK's gallery and I think pre 2007 models had asecond hole as below

The bottom hole is bigger than the M6 (i think) that bolts through, did you have the bracket snug with the square aperture before you drilled the new top hole?. The pressed lip on the bracket fits into the aperture like shown in the picture you posted up. If its not as shown perhaps it isnt lined up properly?

I just fit some a week or so ago and they lined up perfectly this way.

You have to slide some clips over the bracket also but mine were perfect on a 2007.

Carlos thanks for your response yes it defo lined up correctly I wouldnt have drilled a hole in my beloved rangie otherwise. Would love to see some pics of your if i could showing bracket and clips etc. I have clips but despite lining up i reckon i need to use a pliers to bend into place as they seem too far rescessed into arch. Additionally how did you facilitate the fix point underneath as i have a plastic screw there that im unsure what to replace that with . Much appreciated. Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Thanks Scarey I found that too but fitment is completely different on the FFRR unfortunately. I'm surprised no one has had the same issues as me to be honest as its not a straight forward job and im quite good at DIY. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I fitted front mudflaps to my car recently, followed the instructions to the letter and didn't have to bend the mounting bracket. I found it fitted perfectly.
I thought the fitting instructions were really good.
The only awkward bit was trimming the plastic mudshield neatly to fit around the mounting bracket and not leave gaping holes when re-fitted.
Personally I think LR should have supplied a template as part of the kit to allow you to trim the mudshield correctly.

Aha

I did not getting fitting instructions did not realise plastic arch trim had to be trimmed might be of help thanks Thumbs Up

What did you use to fix the bottom part of flap underneath ? Was it the plastic screw that was in the hole?

The instructions didn't indicate any fixing underneath but I decided to use a stainless self tapping screw thro each mudflap into the plastic cill trim for a bit of extra security.
I'm amazed you managed to fit them without instructions and templates for the fixings. Smile
Just remember to refit the mudshields before finally fitting the mudflaps, a very sharp blade is required.
