@ daveo re your last two posts - this is exactly what I understood to be the case, that you needed a key to come from LR if you needed another key. There seems to be a lot of mis-information here (not yours daveo Wink)

This must be very confusing for the OP Question .

Do I need to ask this question again...........???

1. I have only ONE key......
2. I have no spare blade or fob
3. I'd like a clear answer cos I'm still confused!!!

Daveo's posts so far as it's making me think it's got to be a dealer order but I can "sync" to car myself, but I takes a chance that it's original locks etc. Did I get that right?

Is it basically a complete dealer order here, but do the manual labour myself? all smug in my new plug!

its one of those things, like mapping,if you have the equipment to do then your laughing..when i use to chip playstations it was money for old road, a £1.25 chip and 4 wires to solder and there you go £40. until every one started doing it and it came down to £10. the same in the key programming, you can buy the key cases now for £8 and the transponder chip are about a £5 so thats around £13 then just needs programming and as you need a bit of kit thats were the money is..so if there is any one on this forum how knows someone that can do this programming 100%, ask them if they are interested on doing a good price for forum members.
just one thing with reference to mapping i have found someone who does the 4.4 for £175 inc postage.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

sorry got carried away with my self, the mapping is for the engine ecu and gives you around 20bhp but better torque and sorts out those flat spots.

ok ..if you have one key only and need an other, its the transponder chip or rather the programming of it in the key you cant get done, the key case, pcb can and can be programmed by your self but with out that chip is no good at all. it seems it's only the dealer that has the equipment to do it and they wont just sell you chip, they will sting you for the whole key... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

That wasn't the case when I coded a key from another car to work on mine, using the technique posted on this post. OK it was a BMW E38, but same key, same transponder same technique!

There is no special equipment, no magic, this is what the stealer will charge you loads of money for, and you can do it yourself in a couple of minutes. Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

pre 05 FFRR key would be £175inc vat, will come programmed and cut to your car.

It will start your RR, but buttons won't work until its programmed in, this can be done by a number of sequences as already previously said. You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts
