2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

100% Knock free.

I went into this eyes VERY wide open, the shunt / gearchange and phone is just a land rover thing - the windscreen needed doing as did the injector, spare key, handbrake, wiper etc.

I'm so happy to be back in a Rangey it will be worth it next week Thumbs Up

At the end of the day there "cheap" for what they are - try pricing a GL V8 from Merc with vogue spec and its still only a Merc.

Land rovers have a soul - thats why we keep coming back Wink '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto for the Mrs

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

Update - it took me this long to calm down lol

Was supposed to be collecting the car on the Friday (day 3) but got a call telling me that all faults were fixed including a new number 5 injector, the windscreen was still leaking - but only a little so could I put up with it.......

I said no and that they needed to remove it and bond it properly - this took some time but in the end they agreed and said it should be ready for Tuesday (day 7).

New windscreen leaking NOT FIXED

Misfire when cold NOT FIXED

Handbrake useless on a hill FIXED software update Thumbs Up

Driveline shunt when decel / accel FIXED software update Thumbs Up

Poor gear change from 1st to 2nd FIXED software update Thumbs Up

PTI talks to the phone some days - not others FIXED software update Thumbs Up

Rear wash inoperative i.e. wiper works but no water FIXED Thumbs Up

On Tuesday morning they rang to tell me that the leak was fine but the internal A pillars needed replacing as they were damaged when the screen was removed.

The misfire they had fixed the week before had also returned........

I then insisted on collecting the car ASAP - they said NO - I said YES - so I collected the car because I had no faith in them and told them to mail the a pillars to me.

I booked the car into GUY SALMON in Knutsford for Wednesday morning (day Cool

I dropped the car into GS and went to work this was all good and they even sent an engineer out to feel the misfire.

Thursday no car

Friday (day 10) EGR has been replaced and the misfire has not stopped - it seems LR Conwy replaced injector 2 not 5 due to stupidity so new injector should be here for Tuesday

So let’s see what Tuesday brings.

I also noticed the plastic trim at the bottom of the windscreen is scratched to F11CK and that it rattles over 80 mph. Also the external N/S a pillar trim has lost the will to stay on the car (ish) so I'm off to the dealers on Monday to demand new parts to replace these and I'll be fitting them myself.

Fingers crossed I'll have the mechanical faults fixed Wednesday and the parts will all be here by Friday.

Just need the front and rear bumpers painting and the paintwork correcting and it will be as good as new. Thumbs Up '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto for the Mrs

Doc,

You certainly have more patience than I, I think I'd have backed out of this car by now and asked for a refund, top marks for your stamina in the matter.

I too have just purchased a 57 Plate Vogue SE so I hope I don't get similar issues, test drive seemed to be smooth as silk. Discovery 4 HSE

United Kingdom 2018 Range Rover Autobiography TDV6 Corris Grey

I had the rough idle when I bought mine 8 months ago, it has just returned with the cold weather when it is below 8 deg C. It only lasts for 3 to 4 minutes until the car has warmed up so I have not taken it to be fixed. Hunters Guildford did not replicate the problem and did not fix it last April, but they never try hard enough. I am banking on Guava Godalming fixing it when I put it in for its next service, so I will live with it until then.

Hunters did manage to fix my rear wash though with a new wiper assembly on warranty. My phone can be a bit hit and miss too! I guess these are common faults on the 2007 models. Not had any gearbox issues or leaking windscreen, yet................................... 2018 Range Rover Autobiography
